President & Founder- Dr Radhika Batra, MBBS, MD

  

Dr Radhika Batra, MD, is the Founder and President of Every Infant Matters.   She was selected as Forbes 30-30 Asia Honoree in 2019.


"I believe that providing access to health care is one of the biggest challenges which must be overcome to achieve health for all. I believe in justice, inclusion, and gender equality." says Dr Batra. "My role is to guide the organization in its strategy and vision, and oversee implementation, communication, partnerships and data collection. I started my work by building partnerships to serve hard-to-reach and marginalized children. I travel extensively to meet people who are in the frontline of care. I was invited as Delegate Speaker to the One Young World Summit, Hague 2018 where I built partnerships with NGOs from Nigeria. This year I was selected as TrustConference Changemaker by the Thomson Reuters foundation and at their event I met and built partners with church groups working in remote, rural India. I am responsible for ensuring justice and inclusion. We take care of gender issues and encourage families to do so."


 Radhika is presently working as Senior Resident, ESI Hospital, Okhla, New Delhi, India. Previously she worked as Registrar at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi, Department of Pediatrics and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

We are excited to welcome Dr Shelly Batra as our CEO.


 Dr. Shelly Batra is the Head of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Batra hospital and Medical Research Centre. She is the Past President & Co Founder of one of the largest NGOs doing Tuberculosis treatment in the world. 


She was selected as a Social Entrepreneur and Schwab Fellow by the World Economic Forum in 2014. She is also an Ashoka Changemaker, Huffington Post blogger and a best-selling Penguin Author. She is a highly renowned Senior Obstetrician and Gynecologist, and Advanced Laparoscopy Surgeon in India. She has dedicated her life to providing last-mile health solutions for the poorest of the poor. She has lectured at Ivy League and other universities, and has delivered TEDx talks for the World Bank and the prestigious Indian Institute of Management. She is a much sought out speaker at international forums including those organized by the World Bank, USAID, WHO, World Economic Forum, and has delivered keynote speeches at several events such as the Geneva Health Forum, at the Said School of Business (Oxford, UK), among others. She has served on the Advisory Board of TB Alliance, as part of the team that developed dispersible child-friendly pediatric formulations for Tuberculosis, which are being used across the world for children with TB. She is the recipient of the Exemplary Contribution Award for selfless work for the underserved, given by the Indian Medical Association.

 Robert Kamphuis is a strategy, management, and organizational development consultant specializing in primary care for underserved and vulnerable populations since 1992. He has provided technical assistance for the start-up and growth of more than 45 healthcare organizations across the U.S. He has served healthcare organizations as a member of their boards of directors and in interim executive roles. Areas of concentration include feasibility, compliance, structural transformations of organizations to Federally Qualified Health Centers, and the integration of medical and behavioral health care.

Prior to this, Bob was co-founder and principal of Caledonia Group, Inc, a turnaround and management consulting firm providing operational assessments and improvement programs for manufacturing companies with sales of $150 million to $1.5 billion.

From 1983 to 1994 Kamphuis served as founding executive director of Mid America Institute for Public Policy Research, a non-profit focused on economics-related public policy issues. In 1993-94 he was Associate Director of the Center for Study of Futures and Options Markets at Virginia Tech while also a founding principal of Financial Markets International, a USAID consulting firm providing capital markets modernization advisory services in the then-“newly independent states” of the former USSR.

Kamphuis is a 1982 graduate of Calvin University. In addition to consulting services he is a certified mediator for civil and domestic cases, and he serves on the Board of the Dispute Resolution Center of West Michigan.

  A Foreign Service officer with the U.S. State Department for the past decade, John has a comprehensive background in international affairs and humanitarian concerns. His diplomatic career was preceded by more than twenty years in the the field of business communications, as Founder and CEO for Millennium Communications, Inc., and Media Production Manager for Cisco Systems, a Fortune-500 corporation.

With the State Department, he has served in a number of domestic and overseas assignments, presently in the role of Spokesperson for the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations. He was Public Affairs Officer for the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons; Special Assistant in the Office of the Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIS; and was the Senior Regional Policy Advisor in the Secretary’s Office of Global Women’s Issues, covering the entire Western Hemisphere. John’s overseas postings have been in Saudi Arabia, where he served as and press attaché, and Brazil, where he served as vice consul.

Prior to his career in media production, John spent four years in the U.S. Army Reserves in a Military Intelligence (PSYOPS) unit, was a language school director in Caracas, and a magazine photojournalist in Latin America. He has held numerous community organization and volunteer posts, including a year as Field Director of AidWEST, a humanitarian NGO he founded in Haiti immediately following their devastating 2010 earthquake, and President of the Greater Atlanta Interfaith Alliance for five years. In 1995, John was selected to represent Georgia for the Rotary Foundation’s Group Study Exchange on a two-month tour of India, and subsequently became a lifetime member of the Rotary Action Group for Population and Development.

A native of Manhattan, NY, John studied  at Ohio University and Harvard University.  More recently, he studied languages at the Foreign Service Institute and he speaks Portuguese, Spanish, French, and Arabic.  John presently resides in the Washington, D.C. area with his wife Rebecca and daughters Dianna and Danielle.

 Beginning his career as a teacher at the high school and college levels, Dr. Paul A. Ramsey went on to a 30-year career with Educational Testing Service (ETS). After early work in teacher licensing and national testing programs, Dr. Ramsey became Senior Vice Present of the Global Division. In that role, in addition to overseeing national testing programs in English language proficiency, he worked on educational reform and assessment in the international arena, most notably in Qatar. Since retiring from ETS, Dr. Ramsey has served as a consultant in international education and assessment, and in diversity. His main work now is overseeing two charitable organizations he co-founded: Friends of Puerto Aventuras (FOPA) and The India Group (TIG). FOPA provides English education and post-secondary scholarships for students in a Mayan community in Mexico. TIG offers scholarships to low-caste children and basic healthcare to their families in three communities in India. Dr. Ramsey received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame, and master’s and doctorate degrees from the University of Michigan—all in English Literature and Language. Today he continues to travel extensively, enjoying the friendships and professional acquaintances he has made over the years and miles.

 Professor  Ravi Anupindi is Colonel William G. and Ann C. Svetlich Professor of Operations Research and Management at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business; founding Faculty Director of the Center for Value Chain Innovation (2017-2020); co-Director of the Technology and Business Innovation Forum (2015-18) at Ross and Chair of (UM) President’s Advisory Committee on Labor Standards and Human Rights (2013-). He is a Research Fellow at the William Davidson Institute and faculty associate with the Institute of Health Policy & Innovation, Michigan GlobalREACH, Erb Institute, Donia Center for Human Rights, Sustainable Food Systems Initiative & the Center for South Asian Studies. He was the (founding) Faculty Director for the Master of Supply Chain Management Program. His main research areas include technology & business innovation, global supply chain management, health care delivery in low & middle-income countries, economic development, and environmental & social sustainability. Vikas has joined as Advisor to Every Infant Matters. Vikas leads the Social sector/NGO advisory practice at Grant Thornton Bharat LLP. His strategic advice, high professional integrity, superb acumen and personal dedication to the non profit world had made him a valuable addition to our organization. He has  2.5 decades of experience as consultant and advisor to varied clients in social sector, finance services, manufacturing, healthcare and real estate sector. For the past decade his focus has been on social entrepreneurs and not-for-profit vertical wherein he is working across various themes like healthcare, education, environment and consulting India's leading not for profit clients including International NFP, Corporate foundation, various institutional and multi-lateral agencies.

 Dr Ashok Sahai, Professor in NeuroAnatomy & Clinical Anatomy, received international fame as Reviewer of GREY’s ANATOMY. He was Member of the South Asian Advisory Board of Walters Kluwer, Health, Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins. In 2015 he became the first in India to be portrayed by the Anatomy Constellation as “Discovery of Special Anatomist from India”. He has been honoured with Saraswati Samman in 2008, Rashtriya Gaurav Award 2016, Medical Excellence Award, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Award in 2018 and Legend of Anatomy in 2019. He is utilizing his remaining years meaningfully in social service. He regularly goes to the remote forest areas in Madhya Pradesh to address the health needs of the tribals of Rajaborari. These areas are at least 40 kilometres away from the nearest health facility. He stays in the forest areas for upto 2 weeks at a time, provides medical care and succour to the tribals who are among the most marginalised populations of the country.

 We are honoured to partner with Crypto Relief , that has provided more than 100,000 grocery bags across India, and funding exceeding several million dollars to grassroots NGOs to purchase groceries and distribute to those families who have suffered so much in the Covid pandemic that they are close to starvation. The donor Crypto Relief is a group of dedicated people, mostly of Indian origin, who have realized that the Covid pandemic is an opportunity to give and to serve the nation. 


Cyrpto Relief has provided 2000 grocery bags of 20 kg each, and funds to support the distribution of 7000 more across 7 states of India, including remote North east India

Dupont is supporting Covid relief in the remote North east. They have donated 3000 PPEs,  and 32 high-quality Oxygen concentrators, 10 for Mizoram, 5 for Delhi and 17 for Manipur.


In remote areas of Manipur and  Mizoram, Covid care centres are established by Every Infant Matters in partnership with local communities and the district administration. 


in Delhi, we are using the donated Oxygen concentrators by the  Covid Task Force,  a group of 200 dedicated youngsters working round-the-clock to fulfil requirements of patients, (such as ventilators, ICU beds, ECMO, oxygen requirements, etc). The group works pan India. We have formed an Oxygen concentrator bank . Patients of Covid who are discharged from the hospital sometimes have lung fibrosis and may require oxygen therapy at home 


Dupont has also sent Pulse oximeters for distribution in Delhi NCR and North East India

 Titan has sent 12 oxygen concentrators to us. 7 of these,  and 40 pulse oximeters have been sent to Sikkim where the numbers of Covid cases are escalating. We have sent to the following 2 locations:
 

A. To the District Collector who is the nodal authority for all Covid resources ; we have sent 5 oxygen concentrator and 20 pulse oximeters. The DC will directly refer those to the Chief Medical Officer of the South District Hospital.
 

B. To the Additional Medical Superintendent in  one of the largest public hospitals in East Sikkim, STNM hospital, that has the biggest Covid burden in the entire state. We have sent 2 oxygen concentrator and 20 pulse oximeters.
 

 Titan has also sent  five oxygen concentrators to form an Oxygen concentrator bank for the Covid task force

We successfully vaccinated more than 9000 people against Covid-19 in a series of vaccine camps with the Institute  of Chartered Accountants of India. . This includes those from the economically weaker section of society. The vaccine camps were conducted in partnership with Apollo Hospital and other hospitals, and the Institute of Chartered accountants.

Our health workers invested their time and energy in creating vaccine awareness and dispelling myths.

  We are honoured to partner with Swasti . It's because of this partnership that we have succeeded in receiving funding exceeding Rs 1 crore ( $140,000) from a number of donors to carry out Covid relief in 7 states of India. We are there in remote, sparsely populated hamlets in the mountains, in far off villages, in densely packed city slums, working in a variety of different geographical locations, serving people of all religions and castes with the belief that every single person deserves the best health care and we shall leave to stone unturned to deliver high-quality work
